Nick Martinez is in the Index without a board grade, and that's the point: our stuff model isn't outcome-validated yet, so no arm gets a flag from it — not even a 36-year-old lefty batter, righty thrower out of Miami who's carved out 311 big-league games since an 18th-round pick in 2011. The ERA-FIP luck gap did clear the bar, though, so we file regression calls by hand. He's sitting on 15 wins, eighth in the sport, with a 3.10 ERA across 180 innings for Tampa Bay. The grade waits for the science; the page is here because he matters.
