FanGraphs has Sloan No. 9 on its in-season board, and we don't doubt the player matters — but our signals come off tracked batted balls, and the ballparks are wired at Triple-A and in the majors, not at AA where this 20-year-old is pitching for Arkansas. That is no thin sample; it is none. A second-round pick in 2024 out of Aurora, Illinois, Sloan has fanned 128 in 101.1 AA innings at a 3.73 ERA.
