The pitcher who benefited was Kyle Freeland, who threw 95 pitches across eight innings, gave up four hits and one run, and struck out two. Troy Johnston had tripled in the first run two innings earlier. The Giants left three on base all night and made two errors behind Landen Roupp, who needed 91 pitches for five and two-thirds. Freeland threw 66 of 95 for strikes and walked one.
