Whisenhunt is ungraded in the Index because the stuff model doesn't validate outcomes yet, and that keeps the board honest — no flag for a 25-year-old lefty from Winston-Salem even when the page matters. Taken in the second round of 2022, he's thrown 34.2 MLB innings for San Francisco this season with 26 strikeouts and a 6.49 ERA, and 42 whiffs in 13 career appearances. The ERA-FIP luck gap is where we still act by hand, filing regression calls the engine can't yet stamp.
