Nick Kurtz's first home run of the season came in the third on an 0-2 slow curve at 75.1 mph, and it traveled 363 feet, and it was the only run of the game. Aaron Civale threw 75 pitches in five and two-thirds, gave up four hits, walked none, and struck out three. Freddy Peralta matched him for six innings — four hits, one run, six strikeouts, 100 pitches — and the pitch that decided it was a curveball that did not finish. Sean Manaea threw three innings in relief, struck out four, and allowed nothing, but the Mets had four hits and left four on base. Joel Kuhnel threw four pitches for the save, three of them strikes, and the Mets went down in order.
