Kumar Rocker was done after 3.1 innings, having allowed six earned on seven hits, and by then Minnesota already led. Kody Clemens hit a three-run homer in the third, his eleventh, and the fourth inning brought five more runs across. Zebby Matthews needed 93 pitches to get through seven and gave up two runs on eight hits with no walks. Texas used five pitchers and none of them stopped the bleeding.
