Kevin Gausman needed 94 pitches to get through four innings and gave up seven runs — six earned. Christian Yelich's three-run shot in the 1st, then back-to-back homers from Jackson Chourio and William Contreras in the 2nd, both on splitters, built a lead that felt safe. Logan Henderson gave Milwaukee five innings of one-run ball. Then Brandon Sproat walked four in the 9th, the Cubs scored twice, and Abner Uribe had to come in for the last out. Chourio's homer traveled 436 feet.
