Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is hitting the ball harder than 96% of qualified MLB hitters — an EV95 of 110.695 — and getting back less than the physics says he should, with results on contact running below the expected mark more than 89% of the league. That -0.0389 luck gap helps explain a season that reads .260 with nine home runs and fifty-seven RBIs across 144 games — thin for a man with 648 career RBIs and a .285 career average. Born in Montreal, twenty-seven now, he was always going to hit; the question is whether the loud contact starts landing. He ranks No. 18 of 20 on our breakout board, and the engine still trusts the barrel over the outcome. One MLB game in the last two weeks — two strikeouts, nothing else — gives us nothing new. The swing is louder than the season.
