The Mets collected six hits and did not score. Clay Holmes went five and a third, gave up one earned run, struck out three, and took the loss. Shea Langeliers's third-inning single on an 89.6 mph cutter was the only run Oakland needed for eight innings. J.T. Ginn started and allowed one hit across four frames, and Jack Perkins got the win with two and a third in relief. Jeff McNeil and Denzel Clarke added three in the ninth, Clarke's two-run single arriving on an 81.6 mph slider. The Mets used three pitchers, and none allowed more than one earned run.
