Kodai Senga couldn't finish the third inning, having thrown 72 pitches and given up seven earned runs, and the Mets never recovered. Tyler Soderstrom hit his first and second home runs of the season — the first a two-run shot in the 3rd — and Bo Bichette added his first home run, a two-run ball to right. The Athletics collected 15 hits and scored 11 runs. Carlos Cortes's three-run homer in the 3rd broke the game open. Luke Weaver gave up four earned in the 9th, which made the margin look wider than the game felt. Jacob Lopez allowed five in five and still won.
