Eugenio Suárez's second double of the season scored Elly De La Cruz and Sal Stewart in the fourth inning, and that was the entire margin. Joe Ryan gave up three hits over six innings, struck out six, walked nobody, and took the loss because one of the three hits was a line drive to center with two men on. Brandon Williamson walked four in five and a third but gave up only one run, and the Cincinnati bullpen — Connor Phillips, Graham Ashcraft, Tony Santillan, and Emilio Pagán — covered the last three and two-thirds without allowing a hit. Minnesota had five hits, drew their one run on Austin Martin's sacrifice fly in the fifth, and left nine on base. Elly De La Cruz's double, at 112.2 mph, set up the inning that won it.
