Two runs in the first, none after, and Peter Lambert made sure it stayed that way. Yordan Alvarez hit a 77.2 mph curveball at 1-2 and sent it 422 feet to right-center with Carlos Correa on base. Lambert gave Cleveland three hits over six innings — eight strikeouts, three walks, 96 pitches — and the bullpen finished with three frames of one-hit relief. The Guardians had five hits and left nine on base. Tanner Bibee was charged with the loss: six innings, five hits, two earned, three strikeouts, 95 pitches. Houston had six hits and left six on. They spent eight innings not adding to what Alvarez had done, and they didn't need to.
