Tyler Freeman's first home run of the season staked Colorado to a 2-0 lead in the first, and Nathaniel Lowe made it 3-0 in the second. Andrew Abbott settled in after that — six innings, five hits, two earned runs, five strikeouts — and the Reds chipped away. Friedl's 2-run shot in the fifth tied it, and Spencer Steer's RBI single in the sixth put Cincinnati ahead. The Reds added two more in the eighth on a groundout and Steer's second RBI hit. Michael Lorenzen took the loss with 5.1 innings and four earned. Emilio Pagán gave up two in the ninth, and Mickey Moniak's RBI single was the last run the Rockies could muster.
