Buxton homered in the first and again in the third — 108.2 mph off the bat, 382 feet — and Minnesota was down 8-3 when Simeon Woods Richardson left after three innings. He threw 88 pitches, gave up seven hits, walked four. Max Meyer struck out nine in 5.2 innings and got the win, though he gave up four runs. Owen Caissie's two-run homer in the second put Miami ahead for good, and Liam Hicks' two-run single in the fourth made it six. Minnesota scored twice more and never got closer than four.
