Drew Romo turned around a 95.3 mph fastball in the second inning, his fifth home run of the year, two runs scoring on a fly ball to right. That was the last lead change. Anthony Kay gave Chicago six innings of one-run ball on 94 pitches and made it hold. Minnesota collected seven hits, scored once, and left eight on base. Zebby Matthews took the loss with six innings of three-run pitching, and Seranthony Domínguez struck out two of three in the ninth to end it.
