Jordan Walker's RBI single and Alec Burleson's run-scoring popout to third gave St. Louis a 2-0 lead before the Cubs settled in, and Masyn Winn's two-run single in the third stretched it to four. Matthew Liberatore worked five and a third without an earned run, and Hunter Dobbins covered the final three and two-thirds on 61 pitches for the save. The Cubs managed seven hits, left seven on base, and scored once. Seiya Suzuki lined out at 109.6 mph — the hardest contact of the night — and it changed nothing.
