Wyatt Langford's three-run homer in the third — on an 0-0 changeup from Lucas Giolito — was the swing that built the lead, and Nathan Eovaldi made it hold with nine strikeouts in six innings. Josh Jung's RBI single in the fourth answered San Diego's three-run frame, and Sung-Mun Song doubled for his second of the year to bring the Padres within a run. The score didn't move after the fourth. Giolito took the loss with four earned in four innings, and the Padres left six on base.
