Jacob deGrom threw 53 pitches to get six outs and gave up six hits doing it — Adam Frazier's line-drive single in the second put Los Angeles ahead, and Mike Trout's 107.2 mph single followed to make it 2-0. Two innings from a starter means seven from the bullpen, and Jordan Montgomery gave up four in the fifth, Josh Lowe's two-run single on a 90.3 mph sinker the blow that broke it open. Walbert Ureña gave the Angels six innings of two-hit baseball with five strikeouts on 100 pitches, and the lead was never smaller than two after the second. Wyatt Langford barreled a single at 109.4 mph — the hardest contact of the night by either club — and Texas still left him on base.
