The sixth inning was where Detroit's one-all tie disappeared — Troy Melton left with two on, and Kyle Finnegan came in to surrender five earned on three hits and two walks. Royce Lewis started the damage with a three-run homer, his fourteenth, and Ryan Jeffers finished the rally with a three-run shot of his own, scoring Luke Keaschall and Kody Clemens. Connor Prielipp won it going away: five innings, three hits, no runs, five strikeouts on seventy-three pitches. Clemens had homered off Melton in the first to match Riley Greene's run-scoring groundout, and Detroit's two runs came six innings apart.
