The overturn rate is a different kind of number and does not belong beside the grade: it is accuracy on the 129 pitches players chose to challenge, which are the pitches they already believed were wrong. 129 is enough to print it with its own denominator, which is what we do — but it still ranks umpires by how often they are appealed, not by how often they are right.

He found umpiring after an eel bite at a pet store, then spent eight years as a call-up before reaching the full-time MLB roster.
Sean Barber was working at a pet store while attending Hillsborough Community College when an eel bit through the bone of his right hand, near his thumb. The injury required 27 stitches and came weeks before his sophomore year. Unable to write, he pivoted toward umpiring and enrolled at the Harry Wendelstedt Umpire School.
Umpiring was already in his life. Barber had been calling games since he was 15, working North Lakeland Little League in his hometown of Lakeland, Florida, where his father, Glenn Chancey, had umpired and instructed since 1991. Barber graduated from the Wendelstedt school in the top 25 of his class. He was hired as a Minor League umpire in 2006 and made his professional debut in the Appalachian League.
He became a call-up umpire for Major League Baseball in 2014 and worked 690 MLB games through the 2021 season before being promoted to the full-time MLB umpire roster ahead of 2022. His assignments have included the 2013 World Baseball Classic qualification, the 2019 MLB Little League Classic, and the 2023 Wild Card Series. During a return to the Arizona Fall League in 2013, one of Barber's on-field calls became the first tested under expanded instant replay — a landmark in the development of replay review.
