Cade Horton threw one inning and Colin Rea followed with 3.1, and the Cubs led 1-0 through five on Miguel Amaya's double. The 7th decided it: Hunter Harvey faced five hitters, gave up two home runs and a walk, and three runs crossed. Gabriel Arias tied it with his second of the year on an 88.1 mph slider, and Chase DeLauter put Cleveland ahead with a two-run shot — his fifth — at 109 mph off the bat, 402 feet. Joey Cantillo struck out six in 5.1 innings of one-run ball, and Chicago's five hits became one run.
