Corbin Carroll's two-run double in the second — a sharp line drive to center off an 80.6 mph curveball — was the swing that separated this game, and it came in the same inning the Diamondbacks scored four times. David Peterson gave up five earned in five innings, and the Mets' offense could not dig out: two runs on seven hits, eight left on base.
