Ildemaro Vargas hit a 77.5 mph sweeper out to left center with two men on in the fifth — his second homer of the year — and it turned a 2-1 deficit into a 4-2 lead. Trevor Rogers threw 99 pitches and didn't finish the fifth, and the pitch that ended his night was the one Vargas hit. Samuel Basallo had given Baltimore the lead with a 431-foot homer in the second, his third of the season. Leody Taveras drove in both of Baltimore's other runs, on a walk in the third and a single in the eighth.
