Trevor Story's three-run homer on an 80.3 mph curveball capped a five-run third inning that turned a 1-0 deficit into a lead Minnesota never threatened, and his two-run double in the sixth made it 9-1. Connelly Early gave Boston six innings of two-hit, one-run baseball. Simeon Woods Richardson absorbed the loss: 10 hits and 6 earned runs in five innings, with two Minnesota errors behind him compounding the damage. The Twins scored four in the ninth on Brooks Lee's RBI single and Ryan Kreidler's three-run homer, but they had started the inning down by eight.
