Three home runs in one inning — Nick Kurtz, Carlos Cortes, and Tyler Soderstrom, in succession — and the Rangers were down 3-0 before they came to bat. Kurtz's ball left the bat at 115.9 mph. Nathan Eovaldi took the loss: six innings, six earned runs, and the first inning was the whole of it. Carlos Cortes added a three-run shot in the fifth, his fourth of the season, and Luis Severino went six and two-thirds allowing one earned run and striking out five. Josh Jung's ground-rule double in the fourth scored Texas's only run. The Athletics left two men on base all night.
