Detroit led by two entering the ninth, and Kenley Jansen couldn't hold it. He gave up two runs on two hits in two-thirds of an inning, and Graham Ashcraft got the win in relief. Matt McLain had already hit his first and second home runs of the season — a two-run shot in the fifth and another two-run shot in the seventh — both times erasing a Detroit lead. Nathaniel Lowe's first home run of the year left the bat at 112.7 mph and traveled 438 feet. The Reds committed no errors. The Tigers committed one.
