The fourth inning decided it — Ballesteros homered, Freeland doubled in a run, Freeman singled in another, and Teoscar Hernández's two-run single made it 8-2, all off Javier Assad, who replaced Colin Rea and allowed six earned in 2.1 innings. Rea threw ninety-two pitches in 3.1 and left trailing. Roki Sasaki allowed four earned in five innings and still got the win, because the Dodgers scored six in the fourth alone. Max Muncy's two-run homer in the third — 110.1 mph off the bat, 387 feet — had tied the game two batters before the flood.
