Ronny Mauricio's first home run of the year came in the seventh, a line drive to center at 111.3 mph off the bat. It broke a 3-3 tie, and the Mets' bullpen did not let it go — Huascar Brazobán, Brooks Raley, Luke Weaver, Devin Williams, four innings, one hit, six strikeouts. The Angels had three hits all night. Jorge Soler's two-run homer in the first felt like it might hold up; it did not. Marcus Semien's two-run single in the sixth tied it, the kind of ground ball that finds a hole when it has to. The Angels left one runner on base. Christian Scott went five, gave up three, and the bullpen behind him was perfect. José Fermin took the loss.
