Travis Bazzana's first home run of the season came in the first inning, on an 87.5 mph slider, and it gave Cleveland a lead it held the rest of the night. José Ramírez was on base for it and singled in another run in the seventh. Byron Buxton's two-run homer in the seventh cut the lead to one, but Austin Hedges answered with an RBI single in the eighth to score Bazzana. Minnesota left nine on base and committed the game's only error.
