Detroit's three-run first inning came from Gage Workman's second home run of the season, and the lead lasted until Brett Baty went deep in the fourth. Nolan McLean settled in and gave New York seven innings of three-run ball while the Mets lineup put up nine. Juan Soto drove in two — a single in the fifth and his fifth home run in the seventh — and Mark Vientos added a 106.9 mph shot to left. A.J. Ewing's first career home run left the bat at 110.5 mph, and Dillon Dingler's eighth-inning shot was the last scoring before Craig Kimbrel closed it out.
