The White Sox tied it in the fifth on Drew Romo's double and Tristan Peters's groundout. Hicks entered the seventh and threw 35 pitches — 15 strikes, four walks, one hit, four earned runs. Bryan Hudson took the loss before him, giving up the go-ahead runs in the sixth. Sean Burke started for Chicago: 4.1 innings, eight hits, four earned. Colson Montgomery homered in the second. Jarred Kelenic hit his first of the year — 446 feet. Hicks struck out one of the eight batters he faced.
