Mike Trout hit a groundout at 113.1 mph in the first inning — the hardest contact of the night — and the Angels did not score. Jack Kochanowicz gave up six earned in six innings, four of them in the fourth: Andy Pages's three-run homer on a 3-0 fastball, then Max Muncy's solo shot two batters later. Teoscar Hernández added a two-run homer in the sixth off a 95.9 mph sinker. Will Klein started for Los Angeles and threw two clean innings. Seven relievers followed, none for more than one frame, and only Alex Vesia allowed a hit. The Angels had two hits. Kochanowicz threw 96 pitches and took the loss.
