Eugenio Suárez's two-run double in the first came on an 86.9 mph changeup, and Elly De La Cruz added a two-run double of his own in the fourth — both lining into right field off Peterson, who threw 90 pitches across five innings and gave up eleven hits. Burns walked two and allowed two earned, and the only real trouble he faced was the sixth, when Juan Soto's two-run homer cut the deficit to 6-2. Tyler Stephenson doubled twice and drove in two, and Sal Stewart's RBI single in the eighth closed the scoring at 7-2.
