Perdomo's fly to left in the seventh scored Tommy Troy, and that single run was the difference because Michael Soroka had already given Arizona six innings of two-run ball on 83 pitches. Trevor McDonald took the loss despite 6.1 innings of three-run ball — two earned — and Luis Arraez had put San Francisco ahead with a two-run single in the third. Adrian Del Castillo and Ildemaro Vargas tied it for Arizona in the sixth with an RBI single and a sac fly, and the Diamondbacks' bullpen covered the last three innings without allowing a run. Paul Sewald threw 12 pitches in the ninth for the save, and the Giants did not score after the third.
