Seiya Suzuki's single in the fourth, an 85.9 mph sweeper grounded to left, put Chicago ahead, and his forceout in the sixth on a 99.3 mph fastball brought home another. Bryan Reynolds answered with his fifth home run, and Tyler Callihan's first double of the year scored the run that pulled Pittsburgh close in the same inning. Brandan Bidois gave up three runs in the eighth, and Ian Happ's two-run home run was the blow that put it away. Skenes threw 62 of his 103 pitches for strikes and left with Pittsburgh behind.
