Jeremy Peña's second home run of the season traveled 424 feet to left field on an 89.2 mph splitter, and it put Houston ahead before Texas recorded an out. Isaac Paredes followed with a two-run shot to the same field, and Nathan Eovaldi, who would throw seven innings, was down three before the first inning ended. Josh Jung's home run in the second cut it to one, but Spencer Arrighetti gave Houston six innings of three-hit baseball and Texas never scored again. The Rangers collected four hits and left eight on base, and Cal Quantrill's two clean innings behind Eovaldi arrived with Texas already down four.
