The White Sox scored in the first and kept scoring, and by the time Simeon Woods Richardson left in the third, he had thrown 67 pitches and recorded eight outs. The swing that finished him was Randal Grichuk's three-run double on a 95.1 mph fastball to right, and Chicago led 5-0 before the inning ended. Davis Martin answered with six innings of two-hit baseball on 84 pitches, and Minnesota managed five hits all night. Tristan Gray's second double was the only one that went for extra bases. Five Twins relievers followed Woods Richardson, and not one allowed an earned run, which only measured how much the first 67 pitches had cost.
