Yordan Alvarez hit his twenty-first home run in the first inning — a 98.7 mph fastball, no hesitation — and by the sixth Pittsburgh was down two. Oneil Cruz answered with a 111.2 mph home run that traveled 419 feet to center field, scoring three and flipping the lead. Endy Rodríguez got his first home run of the year in the second, a ball that needed a review to count, and he added a double in the ninth. Brandon Lowe's three-run homer in the eighth made it ten. Wilber Dotel threw three hitless innings in relief of Bubba Chandler, who got the win despite four earned in five.
