Edouard Julien drove in three runs for Colorado — a double in the 2nd and a two-run single in the 3rd — and both times the ball left the bat above 106 mph. Hunter Goodman had started it with a two-run homer in the 1st, 413 feet on a 94.2 mph fastball, and by the time the 3rd inning ended the Rockies had seven runs and Colin Rea was done. Rea gave up nine hits and seven earned in 4.2 innings. Tomoyuki Sugano got the win with five innings of three-run ball, and five Colorado relievers covered the last four innings without allowing a run. The Cubs had eight hits, left eight on base, and did not score after the 6th.
