All three runs Arizona scored in the ninth were unearned — two walks from Brock Burke, then Lawlar's line-drive single to right that scored two and turned a one-run deficit into a two-run lead. Eduardo Rodriguez had walked five in 2.2 innings and left early, but the Cincinnati bullpen held the game close until the ninth. Noelvi Marte's first home run of the season gave the Reds a lead in the second. LuJames Groover's sixth-inning single had tied it. Paul Sewald retired the side on 13 pitches to close it.
