The score was 3-3 entering the ninth. Fisher threw 24 pitches, recorded two outs, and gave up a two-run homer to Ben Rice — his 19th — and a three-run shot to José Caballero that traveled 420 feet to center field. Toronto used six pitchers before Fisher arrived. Patrick Corbin had given them 3.2 innings of two-run ball in relief of Will Warren, who needed 98 pitches to get through four. Camilo Doval got the win with a clean eighth, striking out two on 15 pitches. The Jays left nine on base and collected 11 hits, but the only one that left the yard was Davis Schneider's second of the year, a solo shot in the sixth that briefly tied the game.
