Sal Stewart's three-run homer in the first was the blow that decided it, and the Mets spent the rest of the night unable to make up the ground. Kodai Senga threw 82 pitches in four innings, walked four, and left trailing by four. New York put the tying run on base in the ninth but finished with eleven left on. Brady Singer gave them five innings and one earned run, and the Mets kept threatening without arriving.
