Three hits. That was Detroit's entire offense, and two of them left the yard too late to matter. Peter Lambert went seven innings, allowing two hits and one run, walking nobody and striking out five. Jeremy Peña homered in the third and singled in a run in the sixth, and Yordan Alvarez and Isaac Paredes added RBI doubles in the fifth. Casey Mize took the loss, going 4.2 innings with three earned. Kevin McGonigle's ninth-inning homer off Josh Hader cut the lead to two, but Hader struck out the side on fifteen pitches.
