Ryan Helsley took a 5-3 lead into the ninth and faced seven hitters — two walks, two hits, and a leadoff home run from Mookie Betts. Dalton Rushing's single to right scored Alex Call and Ryan Ward, the second run crossing on Tyler O'Neill's throwing error, and Helsley's 23 pitches included only ten strikes. Gunnar Henderson's two-run homer off an 88.2 mph splitter in the sixth had given Baltimore the lead they carried to the final inning. Blake Treinen needed nine pitches — seven strikes — to earn the win, and Roki Sasaki struck out six over 5.2 innings in a game he left tied.
