The Yankees committed three errors and the Reds capitalized in the fourth, when Tyler Stephenson turned a 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 lead with a three-run homer off a 96.3 mph fastball. Chase Burns gave Cincinnati five innings with seven strikeouts, and Tony Santillan got the last six outs on sixteen pitches. Ben Rice's solo home run in the third was the only run New York produced, and the lineup left eight on base. Noelvi Marte doubled in the ninth to add a fourth run the Yankees never answered.
