Ryan Johnson gave the Angels six innings, allowed one hit, struck out eight, and didn't allow a run. The Orioles had three hits all night. Nolan Schanuel's two-run homer in the first, on a 3-1 cutter at 88.4 mph, was all the support Johnson needed. Vaughn Grissom's two-run single in the fifth and Jorge Soler's sacrifice fly made it comfortable. Shane Baz took the loss — five innings, five earned runs — and the Baltimore offense never found a footing against a pitcher who threw 63 strikes in 90 pitches.
