Kodai Senga threw 98 pitches in 3.2 innings, walked five, struck out six, and gave up seven earned runs. That is the line. Pete Crow-Armstrong's three-run homer in the second — his 17th — came on a 1-0 fastball at 94.4 mph and was the swing that turned the game. Dansby Swanson homered in the fourth and doubled in the eighth, driving in three. Edward Cabrera gave the Cubs five innings and left with a lead the bullpen mostly held. The Mets got six runs on six hits, which is a lot of damage in very few swings, and not nearly enough.
