The Athletics sent eleven men to the plate in the fifth inning and scored seven runs. Jeff McNeil's two-run single, Alika Williams' RBI single, Henry Bolte's two-run single, Nick Kurtz's RBI single, and Shea Langeliers' RBI single all came in the inning. Jo Adell's two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth was the Angels' answer. J.T. Ginn gave up eight hits in six innings but only three runs, and he struck out five. Walbert Ureña took the loss — 4.1 innings, seven earned runs. The Angels committed two errors. Kurtz added another RBI single in the seventh.
