Kyle Manzardo's two-run homer in the first, on a 98.4 mph fastball, was the only damage Cleveland managed off Jacob deGrom — who threw 69 strikes in 96 pitches over seven innings, struck out nine, and walked nobody. Joc Pederson's two-run shot in the third tied it, and Josh Jung's ninth homer of the year came in the eighth off Shawn Armstrong to stretch a one-run lead. Jake Burger hit a groundball 108.1 mph that traveled nine feet, which is what happens when you hit it straight into the dirt. Jacob Latz struck out two in a clean ninth for the save.
