Kyle Bradish threw 106 pitches, 73 for strikes, over 7.2 innings and lost. Nick Lodolo threw 97 over six and won. The difference was Spencer Steer's two-run homer in the fifth — a ball hit off an 88.1 mph slider that scored Eugenio Suárez ahead of him. Sal Stewart doubled in another run in the eighth, and that was all Cincinnati needed. Baltimore had nine hits, left nine on base, and scored once after the sixth. Emilio Pagán threw 32 pitches in the ninth, walked two, gave up a run on Gunnar Henderson's sacrifice fly, and still finished it.
